Children and Families
Our ministries with preschoolers and children are sincerely valued by our church body. Children are a beautiful part of the body of Christ. At LaFayette Baptist Church, we design intentional ministry opportunities to meet our kids on their level. Our mission is to provide each child opportunities to meet Christ and to cultivate his or her relationship with God. All of our volunteers are background checked and trained in their ministry area. Our Sunday School teachers are not only background checked, but they are also trained in Darkness to Light’s Stewards of Children.
Child safety is our biggest responsibility. You can find our Youth & Children’s Ministry Policies and Procedures attached below. This is a living document that details our efforts to keep the children in our care safe. The highlighted sections indicate the updates that have been made in the last year.
Toddlers & Preschoolers
Our class for children ages 1–4 is a place where little ones can learn and grow at their own pace. Caring teachers spend time playing age-appropriate games, exploring toys, sharing simple Bible stories, and helping children experience church as a place where they are welcomed, known, and loved. Most importantly, we want every child to begin hearing the good news that Jesus loves them.
Elementary School
Our Elementary Sunday School class is designed to help children grow in their knowledge and love of the Bible. Through Bible stories, songs, crafts, games, and activities, children learn foundational truths about God. They also discover how God's Word connects to their everyday lives. Our teachers and volunteers are strongly committed to investing in the lives of children and helping them understand that they are loved by Jesus.
Family Ministry
We value the essence of family at LaFayette, while recognizing no two families may be the same. Our church strives to provide opportunities for our families to grow together through supporting one another. Some of our activities include outdoor fun days, visiting local arcades, and going roller skating.
